Yellowstone partners with students and families—regardless of financial means—to provide a life-changing education, develop a strong moral foundation, and prepare scholars for life beyond high school.
Why Yellowstone Schools?
The Yellowstone Difference
Yellowstone Schools serves the whole child, from developing social-emotional learning in the lower school to the upper school's college-credit curriculum. Lower school teachers are trained in Conscious Discipline, a transformational, school-wide framework grounded in brain science that builds the skills adults need to create safe, connected, and productive learning environments.
When students reach the 6th grade, they get to participate in Yellowstone’s House System, designed to create school culture, unity, and pride; serve as an academic motivator; help students develop a sense of belonging and identity; and more. Similar to Harry Potter houses, students are randomly placed in one of four Houses—Amistad, Altruismo, Reveur, or Isibindi. Each house continues in a different form when students reach the 9-12th grades. Learn more by clicking here.
Time after time, students tell us that they feel safe at Yellowstone, that their school feels like family, with teachers who are there for them on the good days and the bad, challenging them to reach their full potential.
All students participate in at least two field trips per semester, and both schools offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including athletics, student council, and more.
“The small class sizes and personal attention at Yellowstone Schools really made a difference in giving me confidence. Yellowstone is more than a building—it’s a family, and I can still feel the love.”
—Kerri Johnson, Yellowstone alumni ‘19

House System

Similar to Harry Potter houses, students are randomly placed in one of four Houses—Amistad, Altruismo, Reveur, or Isibindi—each with their own symbols, emphasis, and chants. Each house continues in a different form when students reach the 9-12th grades. Learn more by clicking here.
